The STUBBY from Surf Crime is a displacement hull built for one thing: making any session fun. Short enough to feel lively and responsive, wide and thick enough to paddle into anything, the STUBBY sits in that perfect zone between fish and midlength — a shape that generates speed from its hull rather than from aggressive rail-to-rail surfing.

The full displacement hull bottom channels water through cleanly, creating smooth, flowing speed in small and medium surf. The stubby outline — wide nose, pulled-in tail, soft rails — works beautifully in waist-to-shoulder-high beach breaks, making it equally capable as a daily driver for experienced surfers or a confidence-building shape for intermediates looking to explore alternative surfboard design.

At $745–$775, the STUBBY is the most accessible board in the Freeman Street lineup and one of the best bang-for-buck displacement hulls available from Surf Crime. 

A single fin box setup keeps the feeling traditional and trim-focused. Try it with a larger Parallax fin for max glide or a smaller template for more pivot and play.
