CHVRN was born from a shared belief that surfboards should be built with purpose, personality, and conviction. Founded by CJ Nelson, Ian Chisholm, and Ryan Engle, CHVRN brings together three distinct voices in surfboard design—each shaped by decades in the water, the shaping bay, and the culture that surrounds surfing. From classic roots to progressive experimentation, CHVRN exists to challenge convention while honoring the craft, blending time-tested design with forward-thinking construction and ideas.

Freeman Street Surf Shop is the first shop in the US to offer CHVRN handshapes by Ian Chisholm. These boards are built start to finish at Ian's shop in Torquay, Australia.
